DATE: May 21, 2024

SUBJECT: Ontario Learn and Stay Grant 2024-25 Application Launch

The Ontario Learn and Stay Grant (OLSG) application for the 2024-25 academic year is now open. We ask that you share the news with your networks or any students you know who may be interested in applying.

About OLSG:

The grant supports first and second year students enrolled in health human resources programs in underserved and growing communities. The grant provides students with full, upfront funding for tuition, books and other direct educational costs, such as equipment and supplies. In return, students will commit to working and caring for people in the region where they studied for a term of service after they graduate.

OLSG-eligible programs for 2024-25 include:

  • Nursing programs in northern, eastern and southwestern Ontario
  • Medical laboratory technologist/medical laboratory sciences programs in northern and southwestern Ontario
  • Paramedic programs in northern Ontario.

To date, more than 3,800 students have already received funding through the grant to help pay for their postsecondary education.

By providing targeted financial incentives to encourage students to learn and work in priority communities, the OLSG will ensure that health care professionals get the training they need to address workforce gaps and make immediate impacts to local hospitals, long-term care homes and other health care facilities following graduation.
