Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board (DSB) is looking for a self-motivated & energetic individual to join our industry-leading organization which works towards the delivery of high-quality services and programs to the residents of Manitoulin-Sudbury districts. Created by the provincial government, the DSB is responsible for overseeing and managing a range of services divested to the municipal order of government, including Ontario Works, Community Housing, Paramedic Services (Land Ambulance), Non-Urgent Patient Transportation, and Early Learning and Child Care Services.

Our Team
The Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board is comprised of 14 board members and has been in existence for 25 years. With three main departments, Integrated Human Services, Paramedic Services, and Administration, and over 200 employees, we service a large geographical area totaling 45,000 square km. Our organization is responsible for the development and execution of annual budgets exceeding $50 million. The Opportunity
We are currently seeking Paramedics who are willing to work on a regular part-time basis in the Northern Service Area (Gogama, Foleyet and Chapleau)
Key Responsibilities
Manitoulin-Sudbury DSB Primary Care Paramedics are responsible to participate fully with the provision of patient care within their scope of practice, including supportive and advocacy activities both within the health care setting and in community. The client base is inclusive of patients, their families, and citizens in general. Paramedics shall be expected to adhere to all applicable Legislation and Policies.
Qualifications and Specific Skills
- Graduate from an approved Paramedic Program as defined in Legislation by the Province of Ontario.
- Registered Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant in the province of Ontario.
- Qualified to be employed as a Primary Care Paramedic as per Manitoulin-Sudbury DSB Policy and as per all current Legislation as amended from time to time.
- Hold a valid certification authorized by the Medical Director from Health Sciences North Centre for Prehospital Care to the minimum level of a Primary Care Paramedic in the Province of Ontario.
- Physically and psychologically able to successfully perform the full range of duties required of a Primary Care Paramedic, in urban, rural, and remote geographic settings likely to be encountered in the PCP role with Manitoulin-Sudbury DSB
- Highly motivated, empathetic, able to accept responsibility for essential workplace activities, appropriately assertive and an advocate for patients, exceptional active listening skills, professionalism, capacity, effectively manage occupational stress related to the role of a Paramedic, ease in public speaking skills

PCP Salary: $39.33/hr. - $44.53/hr.
