Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board (DSB) is looking for a self-motivated & energetic individual to join our industry-leading organization which works towards the delivery of high-quality services and programs to the residents of Manitoulin-Sudbury districts. Created by the provincial government, the DSB is responsible for overseeing and managing a range of services divested to the municipal order of government, including Ontario Works, Community Housing, Paramedic Services (Land Ambulance), Non-Urgent Patient Transportation, and Early Learning and Child Care Services.

Our Team

The Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board is comprised of 14 board members and has been in existence for 25 years. With three main departments, Integrated Human Services, Paramedic Services, and Administration, and over 200 employees, we service a large geographical area totaling 45,000 square km.  Our organization is responsible for the development and execution of annual budgets exceeding $50 million.  We are proud to serve our communities, and we remain committed to our mission of delivering effective, fair, and safe services to our residents.

The Opportunity

We are currently looking for a driven individual to join our team as a Quality Assurance Coordinator.

In this position you will 

  • Plan, co-ordinate, develop and implement quality controls for Integrated Human Services.
  • Determine quality service delivery needs and propose solutions
  • Identify priorities and assist in defining quality measures and outcomes
  • Develop methods to monitor the quality of services
  • Organize, develop and facilitate training
  • Coordinate and conduct surveys and other data collection methods
  • Participate in recruitment and selection of front-line staff
  • Perform administrative HR duties for frontline staff
  • Assess and monitor performance and adjust training/work/professional learning plans as required
  • Respond to inquiries regarding client/tenant concerns from politicians, external agencies, Ministry officials or other Board personnel within the confines of confidentiality.
  • Develop effective working relationships with service providers through regular contact, site visits, meetings, etc.

Qualifications and Specific Skills

Education: Post-secondary education from an accredited Canadian University or College in Human Services.

Experience 

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in policy development, procedure auditing and development preferred.
  • Experience in marketing, communication and public relations preferred.
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.

A valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License with insured vehicle for employment related use is required.

Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset.

Computer Skills: Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel.

Annual Salary: $74,295.00 (35 hours per week)
