G.8.6 Prohibition of Smoking

Subject: Prohibition of Smoking Policy No. G.8.6.

 

PURPOSE

To establish a smoke free workplace in accordance with all legislative requirements. This directive shall remain compliant with Manitoulin-Sudbury Policies, and Regulation. Where this directive conflicts with Regulation, or DSB Policy, the Regulation shall be of primary adherence, followed by DSB Policy, then by this Directive.

PROCEDURE

  1. Paramedics, patients and/or passengers shall not smoke any cigar, cigarette or other substances while in any Manitoulin-Sudbury DSB vehicle. 
  2. No person shall smoke any cigar, cigarette or other substances while either inside or within the prohibited distance (as set out in legislation) from any Manitoulin-Sudbury DSB building.
