G.6.5 Paramedic Safety While Engaged in Professional Development Programs

Subject: Paramedic Safety While Engaged in Professional Development Programs Policy No. G.6.5.

 

PURPOSE

To ensure that all staff while assigned to programs of professional development, whether provided internally, or externally, don the employer issued uniform, including all personal protective equipment deemed appropriate for the assigned tasks, or required to perform regular duties.

PROCEDURE

While attending any paid training, CME or testing, personnel shall wear their approved uniform in its entirety, including uniform shirt, pants and safety footwear. Additionally, all PPE shall be worn as deemed necessary.

  1. Staff in violation of this policy shall be removed from the education session until they become compliant with this policy and have arranged readmittance.
  2. Staff discharged from any education session due non-compliance with this or any other policy directive, shall assume full responsibility for remedial activities at no cost to the employer.
  3. Staff removed from any education session for any reason will be subject to progressive discipline, up and to termination.
