For immediate Release – March 17, 2020

The Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board understands and shares the public’s concern over the spread of COVID-19 virus; for their children, spouses, families, co-workers and themselves. With this in the forefront of our minds, we are looking at all reasonable options to support both our clients and our staff while they perform the essential services that many of our most vulnerable citizens rely on.
 

Effective Immediately

All DSB offices will be open by appointment ONLY

  • All Social Assistance payments will continue
  • Clients will NOT be required to submit monthly income statements
  • All resource centres are closed
  • All new applications or request for any type of DSB assistance will be handled over the phone only
  • Where DSB staff deem necessary arrangements will be made to have an office visit.
  • No client will be denied benefits simply because they could not sign documents

Paramedic Services will be operating but the system will be under extreme pressure, so we ask that people ONLY call 911 or their local emergency number where it is an emergency. Should you be seeking advice with respect COVID-19 please contact Public Health at 1-866-522-9200.
